Camera C64 collects no data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it sends nothing to its developer or to anyone else. Your pictures leave your phone only when you share them, save them to Photos or send them to your own C64.
The camera
The app uses the camera to show what it sees as a C64 picture and to take shots. Everything is converted on your phone. The last shot is kept only in the app's memory, until you take another, delete it, or the app closes; it is never stored or uploaded by the app.
Photos
The app asks to add photos to your library, so that it can save your pictures there when you choose Save to Photos, or after each shot if you turn on Save Every Shot. It cannot see the photos already in your library.
Sharing
Share hands a picture or a C64 file to the app or service you choose in the iOS share sheet. What happens to it then is governed by that app or service.
Send to C64 and the local network
If you set up an Ultimate 64, C64 Ultimate or Ultimate-II+, Send to C64 sends the picture's program to the address you entered, on your local network. iOS asks for your permission the first time. The app talks to nothing else on your network, and to nothing on the internet.
The Ultimate offers only plain HTTP, so the program, and the Ultimate's network password if it has one, travel unencrypted on your local network, as they do for any other app that talks to it.
Your settings
Your settings, including the Ultimate's address, are stored on your phone, and the Ultimate's password in the iOS keychain. They are removed when you delete the app, and are included in your device's backups as iOS normally does.
Crash reports
If you have chosen, in your iPhone's settings, to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send the developer anonymous crash reports and usage figures. That is covered by Apple's privacy policy, and you can turn it off at any time under Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Analytics & Improvements.
Children
The app collects no information from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date. The app is open source, so every change to what it does can also be seen in its source code.
